HOTEL PLAYA FORTI /

Project

INTERIOR PLAN

For this hotel, a restrained material palette was chosen. In addition to concrete, wood plays a prominent role.

Sandstone flooring was selected for its visual link to the beachy environment and durability.

The color scheme is focused on creating a sense of calmness. The interior follows the same approach: simple forms and natural materials.

Together, these create a warm and timeless experience that remains tied to its environment.

This project explores a more sustainable alternative to traditional beachside accommodations at Hoek van Holland.

Rather than permanent villas placed directly on the shore, this concept proposes compact, demountable cabins positioned slightly inland and assembled only during the summer months. This approach aims to preserve the natural character and open quality of the beach.

Key design considerations included a compact 5x5 meter footprint for efficient spatial use, natural light, and a connection to the surrounding landscape. The use of lightweight, modular timber-frame (HSB) construction with wooden finishes and simple connectors supports both quick assembly and disassembly.

Amenities are minimal yet thoughtful: a rooftop water tank above the bathroom area provides the water supply, and cooking is done outdoors on a grill, enhancing the getaway experience.
